MMED and DAIDD clinics
The clinic on Meaningful Modelling of Epidemiological Data (MMED) was held 2-13 June, 2014, at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in Muizenberg, including 22 African student participants and 8 American student participants, together with 4 North American faculty and 4 SACEMA faculty. The group picture is below.
The picture below shows the 17 student and 8 faculty participants at the sister clinic on Dynamic Approaches to Infectious Disease Data (DAIDD), held 16-21 December, 2013, at the University of Florida (Gainesville). SACEMA was represented by Brian Williams, John Hargrove and Gavin Hitchcock, along with our five North American based colleagues. Among the student participants are Cari van Schalkwyk (SACEMA staff) and Welile Sikhondze (SACEMA Masters student). The participants in the first (pilot) DAIDD clinic are pictured in the earlier announcement DAIDD 2012.
