Topics in Biostatistics, 10-21 June 2013, in Stellenbosch

The South African Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis (SACEMA), in association with the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Cape Town held an intensive ten-day BioStats course from the 10th to the 21st of June 2013.

The course was presented by a team of three from the Department of Statistical Sciences, University of Cape Town. They are:

Associate Professor Francesca Little

Francesca Little obtained her PhD in Statistics in 2003. She is an associate professor at the University of Cape Town, specializing in the teaching of and research into statistical methods for the analysis of data from the health sciences. She has 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and academia.

 
Associate Professor Sugnet Lubbe

Sugnet Lubbe obtained a PhD in Multivariate Statistics in 2001 and continues to do research in the field of graphical representations of multivariate data. Sugnet spent 13 years in industry with a multinational corporate, before joining the University of Cape Town in July 2009 as Associate Professor.

Ms Katya Mauff

Katya Mauff obtained her MSc in Statistics in 2011. She is currently the statistical consultant in the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Cape Town. She has several years of experience in the analysis of data from the health and biological sciences.
